Who We Are

Our Team

Meet some of our team volunteers who are instrumental in running the foundation.

Melissa DiCostanzo

Melissa DiCostanzo was born and raised in Sullivan County. She went to Monticello High School and received her BSN through SUNY Delhi. She currently works as a PACU RN, but has specialized in Critical Care and Pediatrics. She has seen first hand the devastation that cancer can cause to both the patient as well as the patient's support system.

Melissa became an active member of the foundation after her dear friend Jazmine became a grant recipient during her battle against pancreatic cancer. She is passionate about giving back to others in memory of Jazmine and hopes to help the Allyson Whitney Foundation accomplish a goal of reaching an international audience.

Katrina Wolenski

Katrina works full time as Director of Sales & Marketing for Combined Energy Services, a propane and fuel oil company located in Monticello, NY that services the Catskill and Hudson Valley regions. She holds a BS Degree in Business Administration from St. John’s University, graduating with honors.

After graduating from St. John’s University, Katrina moved back home to Sullivan County where she began her post college career at Monticello Casino & Raceway as the Marketing Secretary. At MC&R, Katrina received the “Employee of the Year” award for her dedicated efforts to her job. Her career journey includes employment at Monticello Motor Club as Member Service Manager, Cardworks Servicing Company as Assistant to the CFO and Johnstons Subaru as Title Clerk.

Having worked in a variety of industries and positions, Katrina has experience in Marketing, Management, Human Resources, Finance, Event Management, Fundraising and more. She thrives off organization and detail orientation, which is where her enjoyment for event planning and fundraising comes into play.

When not working, Katrina spends her time with her husband, family and friends; as well as helping the Allyson Whitney Foundation! She loves living upstate – taking advantage of our beautiful area - season changes, lake activities, concerts, restaurants, harvest fests and more!

Mai Fung

Creative Director

Mai is a full-time graphic designer currently working at GF Studio, Inc., a commercial photography studio, located in Wyckoff, New Jersey. She holds a BFA degree from William Paterson University. In addition to graphic design, Mai freelances as a photographer. Her favorite subjects to photograph are nature and people.

Within a year of volunteering for the Allyson Whitney Foundation, Mai finds herself surrounded by a group of extraordinary people in a close-knit community. Unfortunately, Mai has never met Ally when she was alive, but through her loving family and friends, the stories of Ally help paint a vivid picture of a beautiful, intelligent, caring and passionate young woman that is very inspiring to her.

Cancer hits very close to home for Mai. Her mother is a colon cancer survivor, one of her best friends is a lymphoma cancer survivor, and in August 2012, her beloved grandmother succumbed to pancreatic cancer. She witnessed first-hand the devastation of cancer and the negative impact it has for the patient and their families. Mai is very proud to be a part of the Allyson Whitney Foundation and will strive to do her best to help make the foundation succeed and grow, alongside the amazing group of people that helped create the foundation.

Kara Tloczkowski -

In-Kind Donation Coordinator

"I volunteer with AWF for many reasons. I love what AWF stands for and all of the ways we help young adults battling rare cancers. I know Allyson is looking down loving what the foundation has become and how many lives we have touched. Her dream has become a reality and I am so happy I am able to be a small part of it."
