It was a hot one!

Berlin Marathon 2025 pushed runners to their limits with intense heat and tough conditions. But for 20 incredible charity runners, the weather was just another challenge to overcome—something they’ve all done before in far more personal ways.

Running in support of causes close to their hearts, including the Allyson Whitney Foundation, these athletes brought more than endurance to the streets of Berlin. They brought stories of survival, healing, love, and hope—and they inspired an outpouring of support that raised a net total of $64,000 to fuel the mission of helping young adults with rare cancers.

Two Survivors. Two Comebacks.

Among the runners were two incredible young adults who recently battled cancer themselves. Facing a marathon is daunting. Facing it after facing cancer? That takes an entirely different kind of grit.

Another runner, Aubrey, was a prior recipient of an Allyson Whitney Foundation Life Interrupted Grant—a testament to the full-circle power of hope, healing, and community. From needing support to now running to give it, their story brought spectators and fellow runners to tears. Strength, meet inspiration.

A Father Runs for the Future

An unforgettable runner: Kyle, a dad whose daughter triumphed over cancer as a young girl. Every mile he ran was a tribute—to her fight, to her resilience, and to the hope that one day, no parent will have to hear those life-altering words.

His run wasn’t just for his daughter, though. It was for every child still fighting, and every parent silently carrying the weight.

20 Runners. One Heartbeat.

Every one of the 20 charity runners brought something special to the streets of Berlin. From survivors to caregivers, advocates to allies, they ran with unmatched passion. It wasn’t just about personal achievement—it was about making a difference, raising funds, and raising awareness for young adults affected by cancer.

Together, they carried the mission of the Allyson Whitney Foundation across the finish line—and into the hearts of thousands watching around the world.

More Than a Race

In a marathon known for its speed and scale, these runners reminded us that the real victories often happen far from the clock. On a sweltering Berlin day, they ran not just for themselves, but for every young adult whose life has been interrupted, every family touched by cancer, and every person who believes in turning pain into power.
