Running has always been my passion, my strength, my happiness, and my way of dealing with life’s challenges. In July 2023, after losing Makarand, my beloved husband, best friend, and running buddy, the sport of running gave me the much-needed strength, courage, focus, and resolve to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
Before his passing away, Makarand was aspiring to earn the 6-Star World Marathon Majors Medal – a prestigious award for runners who complete all the six original Abott World Marathon Majors – Boston, New York, London Chicago, Berlin and Tokyo. Makarand leaves behind the Tokyo and Berlin Marathon as his unfulfilled dreams.
In his loving memory, and in my own quest for strength, peace, courage, dedication, “normalcy”, I took upon the daunting task of completing Makarand’s unfulfilled dream of earning the 6-Star World Marathon Majors Medal. Running after his passing away, opened up a whole new world for me, new friends, running groups, coaches who pushed me to be my best, and a whole new supportive running community, and of course, new aches and pains 😊. And, somewhere along the way, in this journey of tribute, earning the 6-Star World Marathon Majors Medal became a passion of my own too. Running the Berlin Marathon was Makarand's dream - and now it is mine too, and I am going to live this for the two of us.
However, I can only do this with your support!
I am now channeling my running passion into something even greater: running for a cause that can change lives. That’s why I’m fundraising for The Allyson Whitney Foundation which strives to bring healing and hope to young adults with rare cancers.

Young adults shouldn’t have to choose between paying for treatment or paying for survival needs. They shouldn’t face cancer alone.
Running a marathon for charity is more than just fun or fitness for me. It’s a deeply emotional and spiritual journey. Every drop of sweat, every mile I run is a step toward healing — a step toward change, positivity, and hope for a better tomorrow.
I'm running not just for myself or for my love for Makarand or to cross the finish line — but for every young adult whose may get the gift of life by this noble cause. Because in a world where so much feels beyond our control, we still have the power to lift others up.
This run is a tribute. For Love. For Strength. For Resilience. And above all - For Hope and a Better Tomorrow.
Every dollar you donate goes directly to The Allyson Whitney Foundation. None of the funds are used for my personal marathon expenses — your generosity goes entirely toward changing lives.
I truly appreciate your support!
